GEESE FARMING COURSE
This intensive course runs over a weekend and covers all relevant topics to successfully farm with geese. We usually recommend to serious students that they first farm on a small scale with geese to develop a feeling for this type of farming and to assess whether it is suitable for their conditions and temperament. Once this exploratory phase has been concluded, it is then financially safer to scale up.

The following modules are covered in the course which consists of a workbook, handouts and supporting slides (a copy of which is also distributed to the class):

Courses are given at Noorspoort Guest Farm and start Saturday morning and then conclude the following day just before or after lunch. Everything is in line with the Noorspoort Lekker Learning concept, i.e. an enjoyable experience using top-class learning material! Your instructor is Dr. George Craven who has been farming – and experimenting - with geese for many years  and who attended a geese production course in Poland. Some of the material  is normally offered by his wife Anna-Marie, the owner of Makoti Down Products. She is arguably one of the top experts in South Africa on the processing of feathers and down and the manufacturing of a variety of items containing this type of waterfowl plumage.

We normally offer three to four courses per year, depending on demand. If you are interested to attend one of these, please contact Ronel at 049 835 9014 or info@noorspoort.co.za or Danie at 082 55 333 44. COST.
