Meet "Starry Steytlerville"

We host periodic stargazing weekend for groups. Groups are welcome to inquire about our stargazing weekend getaways. A weekend includes the following highlights:

  • See the geological "star" Draaikrans - it shows you the best of the Cape folds formation during a geology field trip and talk. 
  • We move on to view our local "star" (our own sun) through a filtered sun telescope. This happens with a glass of bubbly and hors de oevers at the lookout point during our bush drive.
  • Delectable dinner at Draaikrans. 
  • Then, our staggering stargazing lecture of cosmic proportions with slide show to boggle the mind. 
  • Dessert Karoo stars to be viewed through our 10-inch telescope.Then snuggle under a goose down duvet for a lekker sleep, after which a hearty Karoo breakfast awaits...
  • Enjoy the Steytlerville "stars" for a cabaret show of note at the hotel.

 
Our stargazing weekends have met tremendous success. Presented by Pine Pienaar, Louis Barendse from RSG or Dr. Francois du Toit, this is not to be missed.

 
You will not be the first person to say "I've never seen so many stars in my life!" People are awe-struck at the visibility of the milky way, many seeing it for the first time ever. Our distance from any big city and no pollution makes it the ideal place to lie on your back and gaze away at the billions of stars....or even better, reach up through the telescope.... For those not visiting us during a stargazing weekend:
